artegrale, Weekend of the Museums
The fascinatingly poetic and sensitive works of the two artists Anja Mamero and Mona Behfeld can be seen under the motto “Muthesius Kunsthochschule zu Gast”. Both artistic positions have in common the exploration of the subconscious and the conscious release of space for the viewer’s own associations from the fantastic as well as the experienced and the in-between.
In her predominantly abstract oil paintings, Anja Mamero traces her great artistic theme, the “line”, in a painterly-experimental way. By working on the painted canvases with a sharp knife blade, she successively removes layers of paint and consciously or unconsciously exposes the lowest layer. Each line that emerges is unique in its presence and at the same time strikingly defined and subtly nebulous.
